Lateral Thinking Skills
I try and teach the children that all problems have a solution. Some problems are yet to find a solution but one is just around the corner...
Each morning I will ask the class a question that requires looking at a problem or story in a different way. Often the question is a play on words or will need a creative mind to solve it.
Please enjoy some of these questions that I have asked the class so far this year. Don't worry if you can't solve the question! Just ask your child - they SHOULD know the answer.

A boy was at a
carnival and went to a booth where a man said to the boy, "If I write your exact weight on this piece
of paper then you have to give me $50, but if I cannot, I will pay you
$50." The boy looked around and saw no scale so he agrees, thinking no
matter what he writes he'll just say he weighs more or less. In the end the boy
ended up paying the man $50. How did the man win the bet?
